Every person’s life is made up of important relationships. Relationships may differ in terms of type, length, strength of bond and impact. All relationships should have a basis of respect and communication, although this is not always easy to accomplish and sometimes building respect and communication can be hard work!
This website has some helpful hints about talking with your children (LINK), and Body & Soul often offers programmes around improving work and personal relationships.
Because intimate relationships like the ones between romantic partners can be challenging, Body & Soul has a special member-led programme called Bravehearts. Bravehearts is a safe place where members can discuss the challenges of relationships in an open and accepting environment. During
Bravehearts meetings, members explore how HIV affects the way they relate to their partners. This is also an opportunity for members who are in “discordant” relationships (where one person is HIV + and the other is not) to discuss strategies to building healthy bonds.
