At Teen Spirit we appreciate our health and well being. Although it may not always feel this way, even if you are living with HIV you still have the power to control in our own hands to manage life positively.
Teen Spirit provides an oppotunity to equip members with the skills and knowledge to stay healthy, aim high and achieve.
Here are some ways we do this:

A key goal of the Teen Spirit programme is to help members’ better understand HIV in a way that is supportive and safe.
Because there are so many different activities, (including individual or group), Teen Spirit members can choose how they want to learn and move at their own pace.

Teen Spirit members have access to cooking and nutrition courses, which help build valuable life skills that enable young people to eat well on a tight budget and cook simple, healthy recipes.
With many Teen Spirit members living independently, these opportunities are essential when looking after yourself.
At every Teen Spirit session, a hot, healthy home cooked meal is provided.
Keeping active through exercise is a way to keep healthy. Teen Spirit members have opportunities for physical exercise through one off workshops and courses in dance, boxercise and martial arts.
Physical fitness can have a profound effect on how we feel about ourselves and our bodies, which helps us manage HIV.
Sometimes all of life’s pressures can lead to you to feel angry or stressed. Teen Spirit provides opportunities for members to work through these feelings through counselling, therapies, or just having the right person to speak to.
It is also a place where we you can learn strategies on how to deal positively with anger and stress.

Having the confidence to face the big challenges in life can feel easier when you know your rights. Sometimes HIV can make you feel unsure of where you stand, but we have trusted lawyers with the expertise to answer your concerns or questions.
Teen Spirit have developed a charter of rights for young people living with HIV.

At Teen Spirit there is a chance to learn life skills like food shopping, cleaning your flat, and managing your finances.
These practical workshops can help you to be prepared for the challenges of living on your own. Because young people share their experiences on what it is like to live independently, this can help you get a realistic picture of what it will be like.
